On an adventure with daddy

This picture is taken when DH and DD went to our cottage all by them self (I was out on a business trip). I told DH to bring the camera, and he actually took some pictures! I laughed lovingly when I saw them – DD is standing in front of different things, in the middle of the picture, and the picture is taken from a long distance… Do you remember when you were a child and were asked to stand in front of something when your mom wanted to take a picture? I suddenly remembered that when I saw these pictures. :)

I especially loved this picture and it was perfect for the May Challenge at Molly’s Scrapbooking.

The patterned paper in the background is from Crate. I love its colors – it’s a little bit brighter (and more pink) than map-patterned papers usually are. I added white gesso, acrylic paint and some different embellishments. The journaling is written as a frame around the layout.
And a close up:
Thanks for looking!!! And thanks for your lovely comments!!!

Your favorite armchair

DD loves to go to the playground and she can sit in this swing for half an hour while I’m swinging her. That’s why I think of it as her favorite armchair! (It looks a bit like an armchair too, don’t you think?)
This LO is made for a challenge at Molly’s Scrapbooking. It’s a sketch challenge, and you are also supposed to use their May kit.
For my Swedish readers:
Jag erkänner att jag inte har köpt det vanliga månadskitet och är medveten om att jag kanske inte får vara med och tävla då. Jag har köpt extrakitet och tänkte att det kanske räcker… Hur som helst så ville jag göra den här layouten. Jag hade redan köpt det mesta av det som var med i kitet så jag kunde inte köpa det även om jag älskade kombinationen. Men jag kunde i alla fall bli inspirerad till att skapa ;)
Here’s some close-ups:

Thanks for looking! Have a nice day!! (Please feel free to comment in Swedish too).

Painting with dandelions

These pictures are taken at DD’s kindergarten. They have a big old garden to play in and in this time of the year it’s full of dandelions. DD and her best friends found out that if you paint yourself with the yellow dandelion flowers your skin gets yellow! So that’s one of their favorite games at the moment.
This layout is made for May’s sketch challenge at Svensk Scrapbooking.
I’m so in love with these papers from Basic Grey and I thought it was fun to have a lot of flowers on this LO. I also wanted it to have a “yellow feeling” so I used both yellow ink and yellow paint on the background and on the floral patterned papers. Finally I added some yellow flowers and embellishments – and those cute fuzzy cut girls from a Crate paper.

Thanks for looking!!! Have a nice weekend!!! :)

Take a picture of me, mummy!

There are a fun challenge going on over at From Screen 2 Scrap this month. You should get inspired by the movie poster Memento, use white cardstock, a black title and make at least one picture into a Polaroid snap or Instamatic photo.
These pictures are taken one day when DD wanted me to take pictures of her. She was posing and looking at the result, posing again, and so on… A fun game for a scrapping mother who needs pictures for her scrapping… ;) And I love the pictures as it’s so obvious that she is posing.
I decorated the white cardstock with acrylic paint and some different techniques. I also fuzzy cut some flowers out of a BG paper, used a chipboard branch that I colored, and some different embellishments.

Thanks for looking! There’s still plenty of time to join in on the challenge!!!

A bit too scary

This picture is taken last weekend when DD went to Tivoli with her friends (they are all 3.5 to 4 years old). The other two girls wanted to take a ride in the “ghost ride” (I have no idea what it’s called in English, but I think you know what I mean). I thought DD would find it too scary but she insisted… and… it was too scary! Look at the way she is holding her arms… Poor girl. But she was brave and didn’t cry…
This LO is made for a sketch challenge at Veckans nya skiss.
As usual I played with some colors on the cardstock. This time I used mist, ink and acrylic paint.
Thanks for looking! I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend!!!

Visiting mommy’s office

This layout is made for The Color Room # 109. I made it up there in time but I didn’t have time to publish it here to. But here it is:

I used both the palette and the sketch. The background is decorated with Adirondack Coor Wash, glimmer mist, acrylic paint and a lot of fun doodling. :)
Here’s some close ups:

Thanks for looking!!! Have a nice weekend!!!

Free spirit

This is my DT layout made for ARTastic´s May challenge. The challenge is to get inspired by a painting called the Cricketer´s by George Russell Drysdale. The layout should also have an outdoor sports theme. Here´s my take:
I really love this picture of DD running up the hill in our garden. There´s something special about this picture and it made me think of having a free spirit – so that´s what the layout is called. I decorated the patterned paper in the background with acrylic paint, ink and gesso. The kites are handmade. Here´s some close ups:

Thanks for looking! I really hope you choose to play along!!!

Painting Ester eggs

Here’s my take on Punky Scraps Get Picky Challenge (Challenge 48). For this layout I also used my April Kit from Zima (we have a switch each month).
For the challenge you should include…
1.       Anything brown: the branches
2.       Five different patterned papers: Four of them are seen in the close up. The last one is the fuzzy cut flowers “falling of the branch” to the right of the picture.
3.       Splashes of paint: check
4.       Five lines of journaling: failed this one (which is OK according to the challenge)
5.       Tulle/Mesh/Burlap: I used tulle on the handmade flowers.
6.       Butterflies: Three pink one
7.       Demin: I used a demin patterned paper for the handmade flowers – together with the tulle.
Here’s what I came up with:
And here’s what I found in the gorgeous, inspiring kit from Zima:
And finally a close up:
Thanks for looking!!! We’re heading for a new weekend and I take the opportunity to wish you all some wonderful scrap time with all the new challenges that are coming up!

Finally snow

This is a layout made for Punky Scraps Picture Challenge (Challenge 46). It’s a picture with “all different colors”. I was inspired by the color scheme, the white “squares” in the background and the “white space”.
I used muslin to make “squares”. The background is also decorated with gesso and white acrylic paint. The snowflakes are made with a Big Shot machine.
I better add that the picture was taken in February. We finally have spring here now – and today it’s even hot like in the summer! :)
